How to make Twitter two-way for news?

Many news organizations are delivering headlines through Twitter, but is anyone aware of successful examples of using Twitter (or Pownce, or Jaiku or whatever) to gather information on a specific subject in order to report news? (It’s a great way to get tips, sure, but I’m reaching for something more structured.)

Jeff Jarvis introduced @twitcrit over the weekend (see his tumblog or Dave Winer’s version), which is approaching this question in the context of nano entertainment reviews. And Ryan Sholin is working on a project that gets at this from a different angle.

But what else?
