Happy Birthday, Pharmalot!

I was amiss not to say something about this yesterday, but Pharmalot (The Star-Ledger’s pharmaceutical industry niche site run by the indomitable Ed Silverman) turned one on Friday.

What a year it’s been. The site started as a little blog with a big look thanks to the loving attentions of Sekimori Design. Then, as traffic increased dramatically, we decided to partner with the good people over at Daylife and rearchitect things a bit to add a rich aggregation of news content.

Behind the scenes, Hassan Hodges of The Star-Ledger has handled the development, the evolution of the design and the integraton with Daylife. He’s done amazing work on this, as on other projects (like this one, and this).

So what comes next for Pharmalot? Well, we’ve joined with Jay Rosen and David Cohn in a beatblogging experiment that could take us in a number of new directions. And there are other things on tap, too.

With any luck, the second year will be even better than the first.

Happy birthday, Pharmalot. Congratulations, Ed.
