The first has the hallmarks of motion graphics promo - probably one of the trickiest genre to pull off.
But if this is your first, nice!

Actuality from the game and variations in the music add to the experience. This here from a friend who creates promos on small dv cams, http://www.dstrukt.com/_docs/OFFF.html

The second plays out access, which is part the draw of video - the author giving you privileged access. In part it's observational doc so the minimalist approach voice over doesn't impair your enjoyment.

In videojournalism terms it's often refered to as "open camera" as opposed to the news construct. In this case the event happens within the frame as Tony moves down the train. When such events present themselves e.g. a gathering, an accident, the key is to stay within the action as the visuals should sell themselves.
A handy cam - mini steadycam - would probably have heightened the visual narration. You can simulate one with a small tripod.
All the same, good stuff! In the UK we're playing with a range of genres with newspapers, which we hope to be sharing in Chicago in a couple of months.

wow, the second video is even better. videos don't have to be polished broadcast wanna-be garbage - this video is much more interesting. it's personal and tells the real story without muddying it up
