Adding Disqus and Seesmic video comments … and more interactivity
You may notice a slightly different look here if you read, or want to post, a comment. Following the lead of some of my favorite bloggers (like Dave Winer, Fred Wilson and Howard Lindzon), I’ve added Disqus to power comments — with the option to leave a video comment via Seesmic.
Here’s the FAQ on Disqus, or you can take the tour.
And here’s Wilson (an investor and heavy user) explaining three advantages: threaded discussions, e-mail replies (for me and for you) and shared profiles. The ease of integration with Seesmic is another selling point for me; video comments in some cases can really add to the conversation.
Please let me know what you think. If you have any problems, feel free to e-mail me at jfhassell (at) gmail.com. The goal is to make this more interactive and interesting, so if it doesn’t work for you please speak up.
There are lots of other ways to add to the discussion in the exploding newsroom, too:
*Join the Friendfeed room.
*Join the Facebook group. Or become a fan.
*Post something on our open Kyte channel. You can also follow me on twitter, Seesmic, and at my tumblog.
Finally, there’s a healthy diet of journalism/new media stories on my link blog. (And if you’re a consumer of all things new media-related, stay tuned: There’s something cool coming here in a couple of weeks!)
