X-raying the conversation about the future of journalism
Thanks to Robin Hamman, I found a cool new service called Crowdstatus that allows you to create a page pulling the latest tweets from any group of people on Twitter.
I’ve used it to build something I hope is useful: a collection of the most recent thoughts from journalism bloggers and teachers, digital journalists and others with opinions about our changing business. It includes a lot of people you already know about, and a few I bet you’ll enjoy discovering.
What’s cool about this? It creates a simple scan of the public conversation about the future of journalism — or, at least, a quick status report on some of the people involved in that conversation. It’s filled with good links, sharp observations and a nice sampling of random ideas.
To build this initial list, I took a quick spin through my RSS feeds, people I follow on Twitter and the journalism page at Alltop. I tried to limit it to people who tweet fairly often, and who use Twitter to talk about journalism at least some of the time. It’s obviously just a start, though, and I hope you’ll help me add to it.
Who’s missing? Please let me know in the comments below, or @ me at Twitter. I’m @johnhassell.
P.S. — I’ve added a link to the page below, under ‘General.’ It’s titled ‘The Crowd.’
